We are pleased to share that AnyLogic was included in the June 2025 Gartner expert-opinion research “Emerging Tech: Tech Innovators for Hyper-Synthetic Data in Process Simulation and Modeling Platforms” by analysts Tuong Nguyen, Vibha Chitkara, Nick Ingelbrecht, Ben Lee, and Kiumarse Zamanian.

This case-based research explores how emerging technologies are transforming data generation and modeling practices through hyper-synthetic data — a class of data generated using simulation, generative AI, and other techniques to model complex and hard-to-observe real-world systems.

According to Gartner, “AnyLogic offers innovative hyper-synthetic data generation capabilities that significantly enhance process modeling and optimization to gain deeper insights for optimizing complex systems.”

The research notes the value of AnyLogic’s simulation capabilities in producing “unlimited, noise-free labeled data” for machine learning and optimization tasks. It provides a controlled, repeatable environment to test algorithms without the unpredictability of real-world data.

“AnyLogic bridges the data availability gap by supplementing real-world data with hyper-synthetic data generated from validated simulation models,” Gartner stated in the research. This ability to generate scalable, tailored synthetic data supports proof-of-concept testing, helps organizations avoid premature investments in data collection, and boosts the performance of deep learning models.

Real-world use: Amazon’s simulation-driven optimization

The Gartner research also refers to a case where Amazon used AnyLogic to optimize transportation and yard operations during high-demand periods like Prime Day and Black Friday. Through simulation, Amazon was able to explore up to 140 scheduling scenarios per experiment, gaining actionable insights and avoiding costly real-world testing. These simulations enabled consistent optimization across sites by sharing validated models through AnyLogic’s Private Cloud platform.
