conference overview

AnyLogic Conference 2016

AnyLogic Road Map and New Product Development

Andrei Borshchev, CEO of The AnyLogic Company, Nikolay Churkov, Head of Development at The AnyLogic Company

The presentors introduced AnyLogic 8 with AnyLogic Cloud technology. The presentation included a demonstration of how modelers can access, run and share simulation models online with ANY device (tablet, phone, etc.).

Timofey Popkov, Director of Business Development at The AnyLogic Company

The presentors shared an overview and roadmap of anyLogistix, our supply chain analytics software. Their presentation explained the benefits of adding a simulation component to supply chain analytics.

Workshops at the AnyLogic Conference 2016

The Hidden Gems of AnyLogic

Benjamin Schumann, Ph. D., Senior Modeler at decisionLab

AnyLogic is an iceberg; 90% is hidden under the surface. The software boasts so many features that it is hard to keep track (let alone master them all). In this workshop, you will step back and revisit some hidden gems of AnyLogic that are easy to miss or forget. However, they can massively improve your modeling skills and end results. You will build a simple simulation model of the AnyLogic Conference, that employs a number of these hidden gems, such as:

  • the magic lightbulb and how to interpret it
  • code complete & good naming conventions
  • the power of agent links
  • organize your model with Option Lists
  • tell your story with custom charts
  • do-it-yourself with custom experiments

About the Instructor: decisionLab designs and builds custom models and decision-support tools that help their clients to make evidence-based strategic, tactical and operational decisions. Benjamin, a significantly experienced AnyLogic user, works with diverse clients such as the MoD, Rolls-Royce, and GSK. He handles project delivery from start to end, managing team members, and client communication. Benjamin Schumann holds a Ph.D. in Complex Systems Simulation and developed an advanced aerospace design simulation model for the early design phase. It was applied for designing several real unmanned aircraft (the first 3D-printed aircraft on the planet), see New Scientist. Ben enjoyed a thorough training in simulation modeling thanks to his Grad School on Complex Systems Simulation.

A Journey Through the Latest Version

Andrei Borshchev, CEO of The AnyLogic Company and Nikolay Churkov, Head of Development at The AnyLogic Company

Attendees took a journey through the newest version of AnyLogic with two of the masterminds behind AnyLogic as their guide. The workshop included comprehensive how-tos for features of the newest version.

AnyLogic workshop agenda:

  • Road traffic library demonstration

  • AnyLogic 8 with AnyLogic Cloud preview

  • How to draw GIS map routes

  • How to use Cars as resource units
